Year of establishment:
College of Agriculture (COA), Hanumangarh was established in the year 2021 as one of the constituent college
of Swami Keshwanand Rajasthan Agricultural University, Bikaner.
Introduction
The College of Agriculture (COA), Hanumangarh come into existence on 07.04.2021 as one of the constituent
college of Swami Keshwanand Rajasthan Agricultural University, Bikaner. It is situated at Hanumangarh (town)
district of the Rajasthan. Hanumangarh district is situated at 29° 5′ to 30° 6′ North and 74°3′ to 75º 3′
East, shares its boundaries with Haryana state in East, Sriganganagar district in the West, Punjab state in
the North and Churu district in the South. The geographical area of the district is 9656.09 Sq. Km. The
College offers a four-year (Eight semesters) B.Sc. (Hons.) Ag. Programme. In B.Sc. (Hons.) Ag. programme the
intake capacity of students is 60 (50 Normal and 10 payment seat). Admission to UG programme is made through
Joint Entrance Test (JET). The college imparts undergraduate training to the students in the field of
agriculture for their career concerned. At present more than 158 students are enrolled in B.Sc. (Hons.) Ag.
degree programme. In COA, Hanumangarh one NSS unit is running. College is having well stocked computer lab
and library with more than 1700 books related to agriculture and allied science. Special emphasis is made on
sports, co-curricular activities, social service and moral values to ensure all-round personality
development of the students.
Mandate of the Unit
• To generate qualified human resource in the field of agriculture and its allied subjects for meeting out
the requirement at local, state, national and global level.
• To improve and sustain quality of Agricultural Education and develop human recourse for competing with
emerging challenges in Agriculture for livelihood security and sustainable development.
Salient achievements of the Unit
i. Ms. Kussum Verma, a student of B.Sc. (Hons) Ag. Part-III year, secured 81% marks during the session
2022-23 examination.
ii. 32 students of COA, Hanumangarh participated in the Inter-Collegiate Games Tournaments from 14-17 March,
2024, held at SKRAU, Bikaner. In this tournament, Ms. Priyanka Saharan, a student of B.Sc. (Hons.) Ag.
Part-III, got 3rd position in the long jump, and Mr. Gurjar Kaushik Mahavir, a student of B.Sc. (Hons.) Ag.
Part-II, got 3rd position in the shot put event.
iii. 19 students of COA, Hanumangarh participated in the Inter-Collegiate Youth Festival held at SKRAU,
Bikaner, from 29/04/24 to 01/05/2024. In this Youth Festival, Ms. Khusboo Shaini, a student of B.Sc. (Hons.)
Ag. Part-II, got 3rd position in the solo dance event.
iv. The students of COA, Hanumangarh, Mr. Aman Kumar and Ms. Sushma, were selected to participate in the
Inter Zonal University Sports Tournaments for the games of kabaddi and table tennis, respectively.
v. A seven-day NSS special camp was organized from 19-28 March, 2024, at the adopted Village Rodawali,
Hanumangarh. The volunteers of the college unit participated in the special camp.
National Service Scheme Activities
NSS orientation programme for NSS volunteers of B.Sc. Hons. (Ag.) Year-I, Session 2023-24 was organized at College of Agriculture, Hanumangarh on dated 13.10.2023. During this programme NSS Incharge Dr Rupesh Kumar Meena give information about objective of NSS scheme, NSS camps and special camps, knowledge on youth developmental activities.
Under weekly regular activities, cleaning campaign were organized by NSS volunteers. During this campaign all students clean the college campus, they also removed the plastic and waste material lying in campus and make the campus plastic free.
Seven days NSS special camp was organised from 19-28 march, 2024 at adopted Village Rodawali, Hanumangarh. The volunteers of college unit took participate in special camp under the guidance of NSS Incharge Dr Rupesh Kumar Meena.
